Goodwill Industries of Arkansas
From the beginning, Goodwill’s mission has promoted job creation for the disenfranchised. Founded by Methodist Minister Edgar J. Helms in 1902, Goodwill gave people with disabilities and other social barriers the opportunity to find meaningful work.
Following that model, Goodwill Industries of Arkansas was founded in 1927. By giving underserved people in Arkansas the job training they need to achieve maximum independence, Goodwill is a hand up, not a hand out.
Our social enterprise is Donate, Shop, Change a Life!™ When you donate and shop at Goodwill, you help fund education, training and employment opportunities for Arkansans who need it most. In fact, 96 percent of our funding comes from the sale of donated goods. Our retail locations fund a much bigger mission – changing lives!
